Ians PICKUP & MORRIS page
Most of the information I have on my mother Elsie Pickup and her family line is quite recent and to preserve the privacy of living family the information on this page is kept to a minimum.
I also have to confess that I have only recently started looking at this line, so I must apologise in advance.....
Elsie Pickup was one of six children of George Pickup & Nancy Morris, George & Nancy were married (probably in Unsworth,LAN) in 1901.
The children of George & Nancy were:
1)George, married Phyllis ? They had three children. Jean, Margaret & Maureen.
2)Alice, married Jack Severs, They had three children. Shirley, Rose & Jack.
3)Elsie, married Thomas Bowden Polkinghorne,they had two children. Jack & Ian.
4)Gladys, married Albert Taylor, they had one child. Warren.
5)Nellie, married Ernest Bebb, they had two children. Jeanette & Carol
6)Bessie, nothing known.
George Pickup was the one of eight children of George Pickup born in Littleborough,LAN in 1831, & Sarah ? born in Pilkington in 1831, their children, all born in Pilkington are:
Elizabeth, born 1856.
Jonathan, born 1858.
Martha, born 1861.
Richard, born 1863.
Walter, born 1866.
Sarah, born 1869.
George, born 1871. (My Grandfather)
Harry, born 1873.
Nancy Morris, was one of six children of John James Morris & Mary Agnes ?
Thier children are:
Nancy, born 1880 in Prestwich, LAN
John James, born 1885.
Lily, born 1888.
Lena W, born 1890.
Gladys, born 1893.
Clarance, born 1895.
