My BAWDEN/BOWDEN family begins when Joseph BOWDEN married Jane TREVASCUS 11 Apr 1729 in Sithney, Cornwall, they had a son Joseph who moved to Phillack and married Charity VINCENT, at Phillack in 1761, the family blossomed from that point and is now extremely large, certainly too big to fit on these pages, my thanks goes to David WALSH who researched most of the family branches, for more info on the BAWDEN/BOWDEN family lines Contact me

1)Elizabeth Ann BOWDEN my Great Grandmother, was born 1834 in Phillack, the eldest of 9 children born to Henry BOWDEN & Rebecca ANDREWARTHA, who were married at Phillack 2 Aug 1834. Elizabeth Ann married Joseph P\\OLKINGHORNE at Phillack 26 Feb 1859, they had four children in Phillack before moving to Radcliffe, Lancashire, in the mid 1860's where they had another five children. 2)Rebecca BOWDEN, was born 1836, Rebecca married Edwin Rescorla/Roscorla at Phillack 14 Jan 1860, they had ten children:
1)Louisa Ann Rescorla, born 1861, married John Rescorla (cousin, I think) at St Erth, 27 Dec 1890
2)Edwin Rescorla, born 1864, I think he emigrated to the US, but nothing confirmed.
3)Margaret Jane Rescorla, born 1865, married Edmond Reece, 24 Dec 1882 at St Erth.
4)Lewis Henry Rescorla, born 1866, married Mary Jane Richards, 28 Oct 1886 at St Erth.
5)Andrew Rescorla, & William John Rescorla, Twins, born 1867 in St Erth.
7)Joseph Rescorla, born 1869, St Erth.
8)Thomas Rescorla, born 1870, St Erth.
9)Richard Francis Rescorla, born 1873 in Hayle.
10) Athena Rebecca Rescorla, born 1878 in St Erth, married Charles Middlin, 5 Dec 1898 at St Elwyns, Hayle.

4)William Henry Bowden, born 1842 in Phillack, married Margaret Morris, 25 Aug 1866 at Phillack, Margaret died 27 Sep 1870, no known descendants.
5)John Andrews Bowden, born 1844 in Phillack, married Maria Ann Hocking, 18 Aug 1866 at Phillack, John & Maria had ten children:
1)Elizabeth Caroline Bowden, born 1867.
2)Robert Redcliffe Drust Bowden, born 1868 in Phillack,, Robert moved to the north east of England and married Emma Louise Percival, nothing much is known after that, we do know that they had ten children.
3)Hannah Maria Dines Bowden, born 1872 in Phillack.
4)Sarah Jane Brooks Bowden, born 1873 in Phillack.

Amelia left home and went to Radcliffe, Lancashire, with her sister Elizabeth Ann (Polkinghorne) & her family, plus brother in law William Polkinghorne & family, and brother in law Henry Polkinghorne, Amelia married Nehemiah French at St Mary, Radcliffe, 30 Jun 1872.
